3×3 national team basketball players win a ticket to the “Challenger” tournament in France

The “Kandava”/”Turība” team, which consists of Olympic champion Edgars Krūmiņš, as well as Zigmārs Raimo, Francis Lācis and Kārlis Apsītis, won the first round of the Latvian 3×3 Basketball Cup in Grīziņkaln on Monday and got a ticket to the Poitiers “Challenger” tournament.

In the finals of the tournament held on the opening day of the 16th season of “Ghetto Games”, “Kandava”/”Turība” beat “Root”/”Brokeri” with a score of 21:18.

The “Challenger” level tournament will take place in Poitiers at the end of June, where teams will fight for tickets to the “Masters” tournament in Debrecen.

In two more stages of the competition, the winners will receive tickets to the highest level international tournaments. In the Ventspils stage on July 20 and 21, a ticket to one of the “Masters” stages taking place in Asia will be won, and in the final stage on July 27 in Valmiera, a ticket to the “Masters” stage in Debrecen at the turn of August and September will be won.
