1st National Kurash Seminar Held in Comodoro Rivadavia

Over the weekend, the 1st National Kurash Seminar was held in the judo room of the Ingeniero Huergo Club in the General Mosconi neighborhood.

The proposal was carried out by the Civil Sports, Social and Cultural Association of the Argentine Union of Martial Arts Comodoro Rivadavia, together with the Argentine Kurash Federation, with the support of the Comodoro Sports Independent Entity.

The seminar was led by the president of the Argentine Kurash Federation, Pablo Cosentino, head of the Civil Sports, Social and Cultural Association Argentine Union of Martial Arts Comodoro Rivadavia (ACDS y C), and of the Argentine Union of Martial Arts CR Franco Luna and the great fighter Luis Hernández, as the main technical reference in the region.

Kurash practitioners attended the training, and judo and sambo practitioners also joined. They were technically nourished by the variants offered by the oldest martial art of humanity (with more than 3,500 years of documented history in the region of Tartary, in Central Asia).

Three Kurash schools operate in Comodoro, two of them are from the ACDS and C. Unión Argentina de Artes Marciales CR (which operate Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 p.m. in Belgrano 1053 and in R. Fontanarrosa 569) and the third is from the Club Constructores Social y Deportivo, which operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 p.m. at the club headquarters located at Lodyacat 50.

In the first part of the seminar, Professor Pablo Cosentino explained the institutional organization of the Kurash at the national, continental and global level; the history of the discipline, the project to become an Olympic sport starting in the United States in 2028.

Explaining the competition rules, later leaving the space for the instructors Luis Hernández and Franco Luna, to teach the official competition techniques, with details and technical variants specific to the competition, a work that captivated the participants even more.

“The first open training space has been completed and now the third edition of the Comodoro Rivadavia Kurash Open Championship will follow, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, from 4 p.m., in the gymnasium of Primary School No. 211,” said Cosentino.

The activities have already been declared of municipal interest by the Deliberative Council and have the support of Comodoro Deportes.
