Over the last two weekends, the Zurich cantonal police have carried out checks on employees and customers of various clubs. The operation led to the arrest of 47 people and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.
In total, 13 bars, clubs and discos in the districts of Bülach, Dietikon, Hinwil, Uster and Winterthur were checked over five nights, the cantonal police reported today, Tuesday 16 April. The 47 arrests are mainly motivated by violations of the law on foreigners.
Guns, ammunition, a blank pistol, truncheons and a baseball bat were seized in various rooms. Complaints were filed for violations of the Arms Law, the Gambling Law, the Federal Law Against Illegal Work and other laws.
