While ex-athlete Horngacher is continuing the work he started in 2019 for another winter and thus until the World Cup in Trondheim, the Austrian Kuttin is following Thomas Juffinger among the jumpers, according to an announcement on Wednesday.

Kuttin most recently worked in Nordic combined

“Heinz Kuttin did a very good job in the Nordic combined for four years and was looking for a change to some extent. He can look back on an enormous wealth of experience and a very successful CV as a ski jumping coach,” said sports director Horst Hüttel after the ski association’s head coaching retreat in Hopfgarten. Interim coach Juffinger will resume his previous role as assistant coach.

“Looking to the future, it is important to continuously develop young athletes with the right methodology and strategy,” said Kuttin, who most recently worked in the Nordic combined alongside Olympic champion Eric Frenzel. For men, the boss remains the same. The 54-year-old from Horngacher will have to do without his assistant Michal Dolezal, who is leaving the DSV at his own request. Horngacher had already indicated that he would stay in Planica after the season finale.
