Suno Papa Originally, my wife and daughter were Brex fans. The women became friends with other Brex fans, who introduced me to the boosters of the Akita Northern Happinets, and one of them turned out to be my classmate from junior high and high school.

I am from Kitaakita City. I had been exchanging New Year’s cards with my classmate, but I had no idea that he supported the Happinets.

Do you know what “5th quarter (Q)” is? It is a drinking party held after a game where boosters from both teams gather together. I think it was the end of 2019. I had fun playing the 5th quarter with the Akita boosters. Before long, the coronavirus pandemic hit, right? I wasn’t able to do it in the 5th quarter, but as I drove his wife and daughter to and from Brex games, I got more and more into it.

Masa Suno: When I went to watch a Brex game, I was moved by the extraordinary feel of the arena performances during opening and halftime, so I started going there. I’ve watched J League games several times, and even though it’s the same professional sport, it’s fun to see the different viewing styles and presentations. In the J League, spectator seats are separated into home and away sides. In basketball, you get the impression that you are close to the players.

Suno Papa Even if I stand next to fans of rival teams, I don’t mind at all. He has a lot of respect for the away team and fans.

Masa Suno Basketball is like that at any venue. The atmosphere is like let’s have fun together.

Masa Suno: But when I invited him to B-MEN’S, he was very reluctant at first.

Suno’s Dad: I thought, “At this age, it’s too late to dance.”
