Hockey goalkeeper Jānis Kalniņš will no longer continue to play in the club of the aggressor country “Amur” of Khabarovsk, announced the general manager of the unit Vadims Pokotilo.
This season, the 32-year-old Kalniņš played only seven games in the regular championship of the occupier league. In them, he saved 88.8% of the shots, allowing an average of 3.32 innings, as well as playing one “dry” game. This was his second season in the ranks of “Amur”.
It should be reminded that in 2022, despite the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent changes in the Sports Law in Latvia, Kalniņš decided to join the “Amur” team. Already during the previous season, he extended his contract with the occupying league club for another year.
