“What we remember is the fact of being alive”, positive Gasset

The OM coach returned to his team’s narrow defeat this Thursday evening at Benfica (2-1) in the C3 quarter-final first leg.

The narrow 2-1 defeat suffered in Lisbon against Benfica leaves “lots of hope for the return” and for a possible qualification for the semi-finals of the Europa League, Marseille coach Jean-Louis Gasset said on Thursday.

“The last 30 minutes and the goal give us a lot of hope for the comeback. A quarter-final is played over two matches and we return home.said the Marseille coach at a press conference.

“What we remember is the fact of being alive. We know where we are going to play, who we are going to play in front of and we know that we are capable of surpassing ourselves when we are supported by our audience. We have a lot of hope”he added.

“We are going to lick our wounds, try to recover at least one player. But we long to be at this match”again assured Gasset, who specified that the full-back Quentin Merlin, who came out before the break, was suffering from a “sprained ankle”.
