Vinales MotoGP sprint winner in Austin – sport.ORF.at

Maverick Vinales was the fastest man in Austin on Saturday. In MotoGP, the Spanish Aprilia rider first took pole position for the US Grand Prix on Sunday (9 p.m.) with a lap record and then won the sprint race in the evening.

Vinales, who also won the sprint in Portimao three weeks ago, won ahead of his compatriots Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin, who thus extended his lead in the World Championship standings.

In fourth place was the 19-year-old KTM young star Pedro Acosta, who tackles the GP in second place on the grid. World champion Francesco Bagnaia had to settle for eighth place.
