Villanueva de la Serena Hosts Second Provincial Judex Karate Day with 341 Participants

Villanueva de la Serena hosts this Sunday the 21st the second provincial Judex karate day. A competition that will take place from 9:00 a.m. in the José Manuel Calderón pavilion and in which a total of 341 participants from 12 clubs in the province will meet.

This was announced by the Sports Councilor, María Lozano, who adds that 50 of the 341 participants are from the two clubs, El Cristo and La Serena, which are part of the organization of the day, with which Villanueva counts. . In addition, there will be 5 referees from the city. Specifically, she explains, throughout the day boys and girls from 5 to 14 years old will participate and compete in a total of 31 categories. Of them, 21 are katas, and the rest are kumite (combat). The Sports Councilor highlights the important values ​​that karate promotes, including mental concentration, agility, discipline or perseverance, camaraderie; among others.

For his part, the technical director of the Extremadura Karate Federation, José María Vega, highlights the involvement of the Villanueva de la Serena City Council with this sport. In fact, he explains, it is the town in which the most competitions take place, which says a lot about the commitment to this sport, which also represents the success of participation.
