VIDEO. In Great Britain, a special program is being created for motor sportsmen with disabilities

The British Motorsport Federation (“Motorsport UK”), in cooperation with the Loughborough Auto Club, has created a training program for motorsport drivers with disabilities, according to the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

In the program, which is also financially supported by the FIA, two motor sportsmen will have the opportunity to participate in motorsport events around Loughborough with a specially adapted car during one season.

In selection, potential program participants will be required to participate in a variety of tests designed to assess car control, determination and attitude.

The vehicles will have special customizations, including hand-operated accelerator and brakes, additional upper back support and a choice of steering wheels, among other customizations.
