The UVa badminton team played last weekend in Huelva the fourth round of the First Gold National League, with which the season ends. With five games won out of the last five played, the team from Valladolid takes fourth place, staying on the verge of promotion to the Honor Division.
The university team, led by Enrique Fernández, traveled to Huelva with their homework done and had the luxury of taking the young and less common players of the team to play the last two matches. Despite these changes, UVa achieved two creditable 4-3 victories against the Badminton teams Estella and Badminton Granollers.
Six points that went up to UVa’s locker to place it in fourth position and thus more than ensure one more year of permanence in the First Gold National League (second highest category of Spanish badminton).
Once the team competition is over, there is room for individual competition to prepare for the regional and Spanish championships that will be held in the near future.
