Van Noy is the most experienced member of the Ravens outside linebackers, which includes Odafe Oweh (25 years old), David Ojabo (25), Tavius Robinson (25) and Malik Hamm (23).
In 2014, Van Noy was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round. He has since gone on to win two Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots. However, he has recently been moving around, playing for four different teams in the last four years. Despite this, Van Noy has proven to be a reliable player, consistently getting at least five sacks in each of the past five seasons.
Van Noy has accumulated 500 tackles, 42.5 sacks, 72 quarterback hits, 12 forced fumbles, 9 fumble recoveries, and 3 interceptions in 142 games with the Lions, Patriots, Dolphins, Chargers, and Ravens. His only defensive touchdown was a 35-yard interception return for the Patriots in 2021.
Van Noy joined Baltimore for a year with a contract worth .4 million. At the end of his initial season, he had 30 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 4 passes defended, and 2 forced fumbles.
The Baltimore Ravens announced on Thursday that they have signed veteran outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy to a two-year contract.
The specific financial details were not revealed, but a source informed ESPN’s Jamison Hensley that Van Noy’s contract could be valued at a maximum of million.
Van Noy’s performance last season was a pleasant surprise for the Ravens as he recorded nine sacks, the most in his 10-year NFL career. He joined the team’s practice squad in September, replacing Oweh and Ojabo who were sidelined with injuries.
He has come back to assist the Baltimore defense in their pass rushing, which suffered a loss after Jadeveon Clowney left to join the Carolina Panthers in free agency.
During Week 4, 33-year-old Van Noy made his debut on the field and quickly became a dominant force on the edge, recording nine sacks in his last 12 games. His presence was a significant factor in the Ravens’ league-leading 60 sacks.
