Union Saint-Gilloise remains calm after defeat in Play-Off opener, says Anthony Moris

Union Saint-Gilloise was beaten on the first day of the Play-Offs, at Racing Genk. The Unionists, who are still half a point ahead of Anderlecht, should not panic, according to Anthony Moris.

Union Saint-Gilloise started its Champions Play-Offs in the worst possible way, losing to Racing Genk. Anthony Moris analyzed this meeting, on the microphone ofEleven/DAZN.

“It’s our fault, we have to look at our performance and analyze it. We weren’t good in several areas which are usually our qualities. It’s only one match, it’s been a long time since we had lost more, it’s sometimes not worse to receive a kick in the ass (sic.), we are only in the 31st match out of 40, there is nothing dramatic.”

“The goal is my fault. I hesitate when the ball is given, I step back and I arrive too late. Mistakes are part of football, it’s for me this week and maybe it will be for someone else this week next. Without error, there are no goals in football.”

The Union has already burned its joker, but remains in control

Better in their second half, the Unionists were slowed down by the exclusion of Christian Burgess at the end of the match. According to Moris, this red card has nothing to do with any possible nervousness within the Union.

“It’s not nervousness. Burgess, it’s his character. We’ll have to analyze and if he gets a suspension, we’ll do without him. We’ve already done without a lot of players this season, it’s not Now we’re going to start complaining.”

“We know the history of the Play-Offs. The Union lost this week and next week, it will be another team. One thing is certain, is that if we manage to find our level, we should not fear anyone . Sometimes a reminder doesn’t hurt. I’m already looking forward to playing next week, against Cercle” concluded Anthony Moris.
