On April 14th, the UFC will host the 300th event in league history. UFC, that is the “Ultimate Fighting Championship”, the largest league for mixed martial arts (MMA) fights in the world. If you compare UFC 300 with the previous anniversary events, one thing becomes immediately clear: MMA has experienced a rapid rise in recent years – especially the UFC as the oldest and best-known league.
UFC 300: every fight a highlight
The weekend event impresses with one thing above all: consistency. Every fight is a highlight, each of which would attract thousands to arenas.
Twelve current or former champions will fight on Saturday evening alone. 16 of the 26 athletes are represented in the world rankings in their respective weight classes, seven are in the “pound-for-pound”, i.e. belong to the elite of the elite.
