UEFA is putting 100,000 tickets on sale from Thursday

The European Football Union UEFA is making a large contingent of tickets available a good six weeks before the start of the European Championship in Germany. From Thursday at 11 a.m., more than 100,000 tickets for various games can be purchased via the official ticket platform. UEFA announced this on Tuesday. The number of tickets available varies from game to game. After several raffles, fans can now buy the tickets directly.

The additional tranche was made possible by three factors. On the one hand, tickets are offered that were already offered via the official resale platform in March and April. The finalization of the seating plans in the stadiums has also been completed, which has created additional seats.

A total of 2.7 million tickets

In addition, according to UEFA, there will be a significant number of discounted tickets for seats with restricted visibility. A total of 2.7 million tickets were available before the first sales phase last year. More expensive places with hospitality are also sold at 2024-hospitality.com.

The 51 games will take place in ten cities: Berlin (6 games, 70,000 stadium seats), Munich (6, 67,000), Dortmund (6, 66,000), Stuttgart (5, 54,000), Gelsenkirchen (4, 50,000), Hamburg (5, 50,000), Frankfurt (5, 48,000), Düsseldorf (5, 47,000), Cologne (5, 47,000) and Leipzig (4, 42,000). The 2006 World Cup was played in all stadiums except Düsseldorf. At that time, Hanover, Nuremberg and Kaiserslautern were also venues.

Children also need a ticket

There are four categories for each game, the cheapest is called “Fans First”. 380,000 tickets behind the goals cost between 30 euros for a group game and 95 euros for the final, depending on the importance of the game. The cards in categories 3 (60 to 300 euros), 2 (150 to 600) and 1 (200 to 1000) are more expensive. Prices for hospitality places start at 1250 euros.

Children of all ages also need a ticket. There are no paper tickets or self-printable tickets; all tickets are exclusively digital in the “UEFA Mobile Tickets” app. You can enter the stadium using a QR code. A smartphone is therefore required to enter. There will be seating only, no standing room. UEFA justifies this with security concerns from the authorities. In addition, converting the stadiums to have the same standing areas for both teams is too expensive.

With their admission ticket, everyone can use local public transport free of charge. This applies from 6:00 a.m. on the match day to 6:00 p.m. the following day in the transport association in which the stadium is located. Anyone who has a ticket can also book ICE trips at a reduced price with Deutsche Bahn. The tickets for one journey cost 29.90 euros (2nd class) and 39.90 euros (1st class).
