A new and most violent attack took place in France this week and which plunged an entire city into horror. According to information from The voice of the North, Philippe, a young 22-year-old animator, has died.
He was severely beaten next to the Grande-Synthe town hall on the night of Monday April 15 to Tuesday April 16, 2024 and was allegedly the victim of a terrible ambush.

The days pass and repeat sadly. A new, most violent attack took place in Grande-Synthe. According to information from La Voix du Nord, the incident occurred on the night of Monday April 15 to Tuesday April 16, 2024. Philippe, a young presenter aged 22, was attacked by a group of three individuals as reported our colleagues from The voice of the Northnext to the town hall.
He was beaten with baseballs and allegedly fell into a terrible ambush in the evening organized by two minors, one aged 14, the other 15. This Wednesday, April 17, 2024, two of the alleged attackers were apprehended by the authorities.
Interrogations continue to determine the motive for this attack. Autopsy results have not yet been released. Some rumors report the use of machetes and knives, but for the moment, this has not been confirmed by the Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office.

A white march is organized
According to a source close to the investigation, the possibility of a homophobic crime is currently being considered. Indeed, Philippe would have fallen into a trap because the attack would have been triggered after a meeting organized on a homosexual dating platform.
To pay tribute to Philippe and say a last goodbye, a white march is planned for this Friday, April 19 at 11 a.m., leaving from the Noordover high school where he attended school. A fund was also opened to help relatives finance the funeral.
