Toronto Blue Jays Welcome Back Romano and Swanson Ahead of Showdown Against Yankees

The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated relievers Jordan Romano and Erik Swanson ahead of Tuesday’s game against the New York Yankees.

The team removed the names of the two gunners from the 15-day injured list. Romano’s name was there due to elbow inflammation, while Swanson suffered from forearm inflammation.

Both pitchers joined the team after a rehabilitation stay at the AAA club in Buffalo.

To make room for them in their lineup, the Jays traded reliever Nate Pearson to the Bisons, while right-hander Mitch White was designated for reassignment.

The Jays are starting to get healthy after starting their season with several players on the injured list. Catcher Danny Jansen, who broke his wrist on March 13, was reinstated before the first game against the Yankees on Monday.

Starter Alek Manoah (shoulder) remains in rehabilitation. He is expected to pitch in the bullpen in Toronto on Wednesday and get a start for the Bisons on Friday.

Yusei Kikuchi (0-1, 2.30) will face Carlos Rodon (1-0, 2.87) on the mound. The match was scheduled to start at 7:07 p.m.
