Top Performances in Women’s College Basketball Overshadow NBA Action

New York, Apr 1 (EFE).- With attention in the United States focused this Monday on Caitlin Clark and women’s college basketball, the NBA only had six games in which the performances of Devin Booker (52 points) and Jaren Jackson stood out Jr. (40 points).

Clark, the most important star of university sports in the US and who is called to shape the future of the WNBA and women’s basketball, scored 41 points as Iowa qualified for the NCAA ‘Final Four’ by defeating LSU , precisely the team that left them without a title in 2023.

The NBA shares the spotlight these weeks with the NCAA’s ‘March Madness’ and on Tuesday it will return to the fray with a day of nine games, which includes very attractive duels such as the face-to-face between Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry in the match they will face to the Dallas Mavericks with the Golden State Warriors.

PELICANS 111 – SUNS 124

Booker, who had a spectacular first quarter of 24 points and who already had 37 points at halftime, crushed the Pelicans with 19 of 28 field goals, which included 8 of 16 triples, which allowed him to beat his personal record of successes from the perimeter.

The Pelicans are especially fond of Booker, who in his last three games against New Orleans has surpassed 50 points. Only Wilt Chamberlain had managed to score more than fifty points on three consecutive occasions against the same opponent.

The Suns have won five of their last seven games and are seventh in the West with a balance of 44-31 after overtaking the Sacramento Kings (eighth with 43-31). In sixth position, the last one that gives direct access to the ‘playoff’, appear the Pelicans (45-30), who see the Suns approaching and who are also losing ground against Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks (fifth with 45-29 ).

Without Brandon Ingram and Puerto Rican José Alvarado due to injury, the Pelicans had Zion Williamson as a reference with 30 points and will face the Suns again this Sunday.
