Tony Clark played several years in Major League Baseball, until 2014 when he began his career as executive director of the Baseball Players Association. Today he is still in his position and now the salary he receives has been revealed, which dates back to 2023.
The union was in charge of publishing the data, which reflects that it earns 4.25 million dollars, which shows a significant increase in relation to previous periods. According to a count made by ESPN, in his first year in office, the American received $1,993,525, which was already almost double that of his predecessor Michael Weiner.

Clark’s incorporation into the union was in some ways beneficial, because the assets grew. Proof of this is that in 2014, total revenue was recorded at $64.7 million, and in 2023 it was $191.8 million.
Employees, even those who do not occupy executive positions, also benefited, because in 2021 salary expenses were $11.9 million total, in 2022 $15.4 million and in 2023 $16.6 million.
Of course, the increase in the executive’s salary generated all kinds of reactions among the players, since many would be dissatisfied, taking into account that their role there should be to support them and fight for their fair working conditions, and not become a millionaire.

In 2023 Clark had said that one of his concerns related to “the way we market and celebrate the players“which is about “move away from the devaluation and dehumanization we see now and celebrate the incredible talent of the players we have from around the world”according to what he revealed to the press.
In this contest, lawyer Harry Marino also has a leading role, since he has been trying for a long time, along with several players, to remove the chief negotiator of the Major League Baseball Players Association, Bruce Meyer. He also denounces poor management of funds, also pointing out the director.
