Antonsen, the Frenchman’s pet peeve
Tired physically and mentally, Popov lacked the lucidity to worry his opponent, who was fairer and more incisive.
“I made mistakes which gave him confidence again. I gave everything yesterday, I didn’t think this match would leave so many marks. Against Antonsen we have no room for error,” conceded the Fosséen after the meeting.
