“This vile Barcelona…”: the CUP’s mobilization message before PSG’s Champions League quarter

Paris Saint-Germain supporters do not have short memories. They remember past clashes with FC Barcelona, and of course the famous “remontada”, in 2017. So to prepare for the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League, this Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, the Collectif Ultras Paris ( CUP) called for collective mobilization.

“Our role will be essential and we ask for a total and collective mobilization of everyone,” declared the collective in its message broadcast on X. “Let us be united as one man to push ours. Let’s return to the stadium early, wear the red and blue tunic, make the opponents tremble as soon as they enter the pitch for the warm-up. »

Above all, the CUP reminded supporters of how PSG was eliminated seven years ago in the round of 16 of the competition. After winning the first leg 4-0 in France, the Parisians lost 6-1 in Barcelona, at the end of a match where several refereeing decisions were criticized.

“This ignoble Barcelona, so often favored by arbitration, must feel in more than hostile territory,” assures the CUP. It is our duty to make the Park a terrifying fortress for the adversary and, with the determination of our team, make it impregnable. This team, whose warrior and solid mentality pleases us, must feel like a whole determined people at its side. »

Paris Saint-Germain, held to a draw by Clermont this Saturday (1-1), with a reshuffled team, can therefore count on the full support of its supporters, three days before the match against Barça.
