A third victory in three matches. The Blues continued their flawless performance by defeating Italy without batting an eyelid (38-15), Sunday April 14 in Paris, and remained in the same league as the English, during the third day of the 2024 Six Nations Tournament.

After dominating Ireland (38-17) and Scotland (15-5), the French women achieved a third success in a row thanks to six tries from center Nassira Kondé (3rd), front row Annaëlle Deshaye ( 23rd), the third line Charlotte Escudero (31st), the winger Melissande Llorens (38th) then the other pillar Assia Khalfaoui (45th) and the second line Madoussa Fall (64th).

The French XV, however, remains second with 14 points, behind the untouchable English (15 points), five-time title holders, who made short work of the Scottish (46-0) the day before.

The probable “final” against the Red Roses will take place in Bordeaux on April 27.

Next match against the Welsh

By then, the French will have to have beaten the Welsh bottom in Cardiff to be able to hope to win a first Tournament since 2018.

Above all, they will have to do better than against Italy, where they sometimes showed a bit of clumsiness (14 ball losses) and a certain lack of efficiency on mauls.

The players of the Gaëlle Mignot-David Ortiz duo, however, improved things compared to their first two outings, with more sobriety and realism, while taking advantage of the transalpine indiscipline (one yellow card, ten penalties conceded).

The Blues were reassured, with undoubtedly their best match of the 2024 Tournament. A good omen while waiting to challenge the English.
