The town of Mollina, in the Antequera region (Málaga), hosted the Spanish Judo Cup in the veteran category last weekend. The Santiago brothers Alberto and Gonzalo Varela, from the Judo Club Base, won the bronze medal, each in their category. His coach, Xaqun Baldomir, won gold.
It so happens that the Varela brothers returned to compete two seasons ago, after a long hiatus of 25 years.
