The Titans Fight for Play-Offs – Slim Chance but Strong Determination!

Dresden – The chance is slim! Give up? That doesn’t happen with the Titans! As long as the play-offs are at least theoretically possible, Fabian Strauß’s (31) men will do everything they can to achieve them.

“We have to win both games, the rest is out of our own hands. But we have shown that we still want to get in,” said Daniel Kirchner (26) after the unfortunate 75:79 defeat at the Frankfurt Skyliners.

With his twelve points, the 26-year-old was one of the best throwers on his team after Tanner Graham (27, 18 points) and Koen Sapwell (25, 13). His throwing technique beyond the perimeter even made former national player and three-point specialist Pascal Roller (47) rave about it during the half-time break.

“I’m happy to accept the praise, but I didn’t quite do it justice. That wasn’t my best game – especially from the outside,” admitted Kirchner.

Only two of his ten attempts from the three-point line went into the net. His teammates also left an unusual amount behind, so there was no small surprise for the second-placed team.

“In the end there has to be a loser, but this time he will leave the game with his head held high,” explained Coach Strauss.

His team has to win the remaining two games and play-off rivals Münster have to lose both. Only then will it be possible to get eighth place. Kirchner: “If it isn’t, it isn’t.”
