the sustainable trekking boot

Ideal for hiking, approach and via ferrata activities, the new Garmont Dragontail Tech Geo is made with 28.8% less CO2 emissions. Winner of an ISPO Award for its eco-sustainable characteristics, the Dragontail Tech Geo has an upper in ACBC FreeBioTM Microfiber, a certified responsible material that combines recycled yarns with natural materials, resulting in a 79% sustainable microfibre.

Garmont Dragontail Tech Geo: more comfort even in the most prolonged uses

This low-cut shoe is reinforced laterally with protective bands made from polyamide, which is also 30% recycled. Added to these elements are the further improved Heel Lock system, the asymmetric lacing for better adaptation to the shape of the foot and greater space at the toe, to ensure a high level of comfort even in the most prolonged uses.

Recycled and bio-based materials

The internal insole is Ortholite Recycled, made with 98% recycled material, which ensures durability and cushioning. The rigidity of the shoe is different for the female and male models thanks to a differentiated mounting insole. The dual-density EVA midsole, with 50% bio-based material derived from sugar cane, gives support and comfort. The Michelin Off Road sole, made exclusively for Garmont, uses a Hybrid compound with 37.5% recycled rubber.

Sustainability to reach greener heights

For Garmont, sustainability represents one of the pillars that have guided company research in recent years. Not just materials that aim for performance but wise choices that can contribute to helping the environment by saving CO2 in the production phase.

The virtuous path that Garmont presented last year has much deeper roots. It started with the announcement of the collaboration with the well-known ACBC brand, the first Italian footwear brand to receive B-Corp certification, and the presentation of the Lagom collection.

In parallel with the lifestyle sector, Garmont has also brought new technologies and knowledge to the outdoor world, creating the new Dragontail Tech Geo, an improved and more responsible version of one of Garmont’s best sellers. Same performance, lower impact on the environment: this is the objective that Garmont set itself when it decided to rethink one of its most iconic models by starting to break down every component of the previous version to try to find an alternative material with less environmental impact.
