Yesterday he won the bronze medal in the 63 kg. For the eighteen year old Sicilian judoka, from the Koizumi Ecodep Scicli company of maestro Maurizio Pelligra, the success led her to get on the podium winning the bronze medal after overcoming, in the initial match, the Croatian Iva Oberan and in the following one the Spanish Cristina Cabana Perez. In the quarter-finals she lost by ippon against the Czech Renata Zachova. In repechage after winning with three penalties over the German Dena Pohl, she won the bronze with an uchi mata ippon over the Croatian Katarina Kristo.
The judoka from Ragusa, just over eighteen years old, who competes with the colors of the Italian national team, reaps successes.
“I’m really happy with this race, it’s my first heavy medal – said Savita Russo – it was very challenging, I come back more aware of what I know and what I can do. I thank my family, Maurizio my teacher and all of Koizumi Scicli, my boyfriend and the Italian national team. This is just the beginning”. Savita really does a great judo, if we add that at her age she is capable of staying clear in a European final, to be able to read and modify the tactics depending on the situations, for me she can do anything.
