The president of the Viterbo Baseball Club, architect Lorenzo Grani, spoke about the Viterbo baseball club, recalling the history of this team sport born in the United States in the mid-19th century, when the New York Yankees updated the rules of the ancient English sport of cricket making it a mass sport. In Viterbo the game began in 1958 thanks to a player present in the city. The club secretary Cesare Rutili, a former player, recalled the peculiarities of baseball, that is, a game not of contact, but of precision, where the point is not made by the “ball” but by the man. Again, a particular aspect of the discipline is the length of the match which can never end in a draw. The technical director Alberto Massini spoke on the technical and organizational aspects of the Viterbo Baseball Club, in particular for the training of young people. The evening continued with the exchange of gifts between the Panathlon Club and the managers of the Viterbo Baseball Club. President Bandini also wanted to pay homage to the CONI provincial delegate Ugo Baldi present at the event. An invitation for everyone. On Sunday 12 May at the Baseball Field in Santa Barbara there will be the seasonal debut match of the Viterbo Baseball Club.
