Football is changing. Maybe it’s already changed. In all areas of the world. Brazil no longer produces the all-technical players that were common a few years ago. This is also why Palmeiras, currently the most important team in the nation (recently won the Copa Libertadores and the championship) has relied on the 31-year-old Felipe Anderson, snatching him from Lazio from which he will free himself.

“His transfer was the main story in all the newspapers Emilson Cribari explained exclusively to our microphones, at Lazio from 2005 to 2010 -. He is seen as one of Palmeiras’ most important signings of recent years. And we’re talking about a team that is dominating here at home. The club has economic potential.”

Do you think nostalgia for Brazil had an impact on the player’s choice?
“The distance from home has an impact, but in Italy Felipe grew up and fulfilled himself. So in my opinion it is not a choice dictated by Saudade.”

And how do you explain it?
“He wants the national team, he wants to participate in the World Cup. Palmeiras is also better at attracting the attention of the current coach than Juventus, another team that was interested in Felipe. In my opinion, his choice is therefore an ambitious one.”

What does she do now?
“I run a football school for children/youths aged 4 to 16. The football school is called C25 Soccer Academy. The “C” is the initial of my name, the 25 is the shirt number I wore at
Lazio. We are very satisfied with the work we are doing: there are around 400 kids who have entrusted themselves to us. We pay attention not only to the technical side but also to the educational side. In
In general, however, the new generations worry me a little.”

Please explain…
“I think mine was the last generation of lions. I also often talk about it with some of my ex-partners. Today there is no longer the same passion, the same hunger. Many kids play thinking about the money they could earn or about social media. Personal visibility is sought, the team and love for the profession are put on the back burner. I played with a broken face because the team needed me and I loved the shirt. Now if it rains the boys don’t go to training. If they move away from their parents they often prove mentally fragile and return home, giving up their dream and passion.”
