The Power of Judo: How Henri-Pierre Blin Thrives and Inspires Others

The practice of judo allows him to flourish and open up to the world.

Henri-Pierre Blin became French adapted para-judo champion, veteran category – 66 kg on Saturday April 6 in Montauban. He was accompanied by his parents who supported him and encouraged him in his practice with great fervor! Indeed, the practice of judo allows him to flourish and open up to the world and he excels in this discipline. He suffers from autism spectrum disorders and works at Esat Le Mona de Tordères (establishment and work assistance service), a Sésame autism association which will soon allow him to become the Ambassador of adapted sport to the departmental committee of adapted sport. By rising to the highest step of the podium, he proves that the practice of judo has undeniable benefits on the health of people with disabilities and, above all, allows them to flourish. His parents would like to thank Gaëlle, a teacher of adapted physical activities and a judo jujitsu teacher at the Millas Judo club who has been training him every week since September. They created a real relationship of trust which allowed them to perform nationally! A thought also to all the judo teachers who crossed paths with Henri-Pierre (Olivier, Kévin, Pierrot, etc.) with particular gratitude to the one who allowed him to learn the practice, former judo teacher of ‘Ille-sur Têt, Walter Theuns, at a time when it was rare for a disabled athlete to be included in a club. Congratulations to all of Henri-Pierre’s training partners and to the Millas Judo club and its partners (Millas town hall, Intermarché, CDSA66). You might believe that judo is an individual sport, but Henri-Pierre knew how to surround himself with a fine team to become champion of France!
