The Miami Heat: Incorrigible Playoff Marvels Strike Again in Game 2 Victory over Celtics

They are incorrigible. They’re going to do it again every year. Deprived of Jimmy Butler and in a den which had only known defeat 4 times in 42 games this season, the Miami Heat offered a Game 2 marvel to win in Boston. They are incorrigible. They’re going to do it again every year.

Pinch your ear very hard, you are not dreaming.

Even if, eventually, you should get used to it and, therefore, no longer be surprised.

The Heat is this team of soldiers who, every year and whatever happens, arrives in the Playoffs and, pardon the expression, pisses off everyone. It can happen very quickly, from the first round, just like it can go all the way to the NBA Finals, it’s still happened twice in four years, almost three. We’ll see where all this takes us this year, but the South Beach franchise has at least – already – won this: the Celtics are going to suck for at least five days.

For what ? Because last night, during this match 2 between two teams who know each other only too well, the Heat literally caught fire, no pun intended. He took 3-pointers, he caught fire from the “parking lot”, as the future boomers say. 23/43 at 3-points, 6/11 for Tyler Herro, 5/6 for Caleb Martin and 3/4 for Nikola Jovic, and inside the zone… well it was the same with, in particular, a Bam Adebayo Duncanissime in the second half.

In the chronology of this Game 2, the Heat was not always in control. A huge first quarter from Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown who goes crazy and crashes 15 in the second, Sam Hauser who shows up twice, so many passages during which Boston showed that despite all the Florida verve, the talent was in greater quantity in Boston. Except that in Boston, talent is one thing but desire, even resilience, is another. Jaime Jaquez Jr. who plays the… leaders (?!?!) even though he is a rookie, Tyler Herro who has never been so clean and lucid in his choices, Caleb Martin who would enter the GOAT discussion if he faced Boston 45 times a year… everyone contributes, apart from Duncan Robinson who remains useless and who therefore serves as a decoy, that’s already it.

Little by little the C’s understand what’s hanging over their noses, and little by little what’s hanging over their noses ends up exploding in their faces. A victory for the Heat, in Boston, and a series completely restarted at 1-1 with two games to come in Mayami. Boston remains one of the two big favorites for the title with Denver, Boston will perhaps react by beating the Heat twice at home, but, it is now done, Miami will have at least made the C’s doubt the time of a short week, and that’s the world in which Erik Spoelstra’s players lose one at home in the series. Because that’s still far from being done…

A starry evening in spring, the second album by Norah Jones, Corsican charcuterie. The movie Remember Me, Stella in Super Patrol, a cozy bed after a night of NBA on TV. Here is an exhaustive list of what can provide great emotions, and you can add the Miami Heat in the Playoffs. Well, unless you’re a Celtics fan.
