MADRID, 15 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian referee Daniele Orsato will referee this Wednesday the Manchester City-Real Madrid match at the Etihad Stadium (9:00 p.m.), corresponding to the second leg of the quarterfinals of the 2023-2024 Champions League.

Orsato has whistled for the Madridistas on eight occasions, with a record of four wins and four losses. The last match was the second leg of the quarterfinals of the last edition of the Champions League, against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (0-2).

In addition, the Italian was the referee in the whites’ comeback against Manchester City in the second leg of the semi-finals of the 2021-2022 Champions League, a season in which they were proclaimed champions.

In that match, Real Madrid won 3-1, after a double by Rodrygo Goes that took the match to extra time, where the match was determined by a penalty that Karim Benzema converted.

Orsato, 48, made his debut in a Real Madrid match in the 2015-2016 Champions League, in a group stage match against Swedish club Malmö that ended with a crushing 8-0 victory for the Madridistas.
