Winner of the Dubai tournament, her first 1000 in her career, the Italian then reached the round of 16 at Indian Wells, before diving into the European clay season. For her part, Rybakina, a twenty-four-year-old Muscovite with dual passports, reaches the quarter-finals after playing just one match, defeating the Russian Kudermetova in three sets.
