On the other hand, it is “the first sporting event in Spain” with a water reuse system, which the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 has just inaugurated: it reuses gray water from showers and rainwater, allowing the club and the tournament are self-sufficient in irrigation of courts and gardening.

The system recycles all water spent in the locker rooms, through filtration through membranes and 3 water tanks with a total capacity for 75,000 liters of water.

In 9 days, more than 100,000 people will pass through the RCTB-1899 to watch the matches, in which Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Andréi Rublev, Casper Ruud and Stéfanos Tsitsipas will play (in recent years the tournament has always hosted at least to five tennis players from the World Top 10).
