Between 2013 and 2016, Sabine Lisicki was in a relationship with comedian Oliver Pocher. The relationship, especially the breakup, made numerous headlines. A whirlwind that the athlete doesn’t want to experience again. That’s why she keeps her private life largely out of the public eye – including her relationship with her fiancé.
But Sabine Lisicki would like to share her experiences during her pregnancy with her 179,000 followers. The 34-year-old is currently expecting her first child. She now speaks openly on Instagram about the ups and downs of the past few weeks.
Fatigue and discomfort bother Lisicki
In the social media clip it is clear that Sabine Lisicki does not find it easy to talk about her emotions. “I don’t know if I even have the courage to publish this video at some point,” she admits. The tennis player reports that every day currently presents new challenges for her. “Pregnancy is really not easy. Days are often overshadowed by fatigue and discomfort,” she says.
Since Sabine Lisicki has to go to the toilet several times at night, her sleep is anything but restful. As a result, she doesn’t have enough energy to stick to her training. “As a professional athlete, you first have to learn to cope with a lot of things. Especially because I’m otherwise a bundle of energy and love playing and training tennis,” explains the athlete. Since she is used to always being in top shape, she also has to nibble on her physical changes.
Sabine Lisicki emphasizes that she is still grateful for her pregnancy. However, it is important to her to give her followers an unvarnished insight into her current emotional chaos.
