Tennis: Prime Minister Gabriel Attal asked the General Inspectorate for a mission to the FFT

The news was expected, it ended up coming. According to consistent sources, the IGESR will return to the French Tennis Federation (FFT), two years after having discreetly issued a first report which was never made public. It was Gabriel Attal who made the decision to seize the IG, this choice falling to the Prime Minister after a deportation decree which prohibited Amélie Oudéa-Castéra from dealing with questions linked to the FFT, to avoid any risk of conflict. interests (she is the former director).

This new mission comes as several press articles have described the very tense social climate at the Federation since 2020. A preliminary investigation is also open at the PNF for misappropriation of public property, responsible for shedding light on how Roland’s tickets -Garros were able to be marketed by regional leagues, including the Aura League, formerly managed by Gilles Moretton, current president of the FFT.

This mission will allow the Federation to continue to progress in the service of tennis and clubs. I welcome this decision on behalf of the entire management of the FFT and its teams. »

According to our information, this mission will not be confined to the follow-up to the IG report of 2022. After the numerous press articles of recent years, Gabriel Attal also asked the inspectors to analyze the “governance of the federation” , “human resources management” and “operation of the national technical directorate”. Questions which already fell within the scope of the 2022 mission but which could therefore be explored in greater depth…
