Tennis Channel Expands into German-Speaking Countries with New General Manager

The Tennis Channel has been available to subscribe to as a streaming service in this country for some time now, and now the American Sinclair Broadcast Group, which is behind the offer, wants to grow in German-speaking countries. The Tennis Channel has now hired a German media manager for the first time.

As it was announced on Wednesday, Matthias Hahn is now acting as General Manager DACH. Under his leadership, a local team is to be set up at the Munich location. Hahn worked for Sky Deutschland for 15 years in the past, primarily in the areas of distribution and partnerships. He then worked for the technology company XPERI. The fact that he also loves playing tennis and led the German team to the bronze medal as captain of the over-45 national team should certainly not be a disadvantage for his new employer.

“The signing of Matthias as our first senior manager in Europe is a stroke of luck for our company,” said Andy Reif, Tennis Channel’s SVP International and Programming. “The mixture of business knowledge and passion for tennis fits our ambitious goals perfectly.” Matthias Hahn: “As a big tennis fan, I have been following the development of the Tennis Channel with great interest for many years and am very pleased to be able to help drive the channel’s international expansion with my expertise and experience.”

In addition to live content from ATP and WTA tournaments, the streaming service also currently shows country comparisons such as the Billie Jean King Cup or the Davis Cup. The offer also includes historical matches and documentaries with current tennis professionals.
