Telekom Baskets Bonn Miss Out on Champions League Semi-Finals After Defeat by GS Peristeri

Defending champion Telekom Baskets Bonn missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

On Tuesday, the Bonn team lost the third quarter-final duel in front of their home crowd against the Greek representative GS Peristeri 77:89 (43:51), which turned the series around after the opening defeat.

Above all, the high efficiency of the guests, who hit over 61 percent of their throws, cost Bonn the next round.

Belgian coach Roel Moors’ team, which is currently eighth in the Bundesliga and fighting for a direct playoff place, was faced with a ten-point deficit at the end of the first quarter despite a good first few minutes.

Shortly before the last break in the third period it had melted down to one point, but the Baskets couldn’t get past it. Instead, the gap grew steadily again.

The best shooters of the game were Peristeri’s Joe Ragland and Bonn’s Norwegian point guard Harald Frey with 21 points each.
