Sven Mislintat will officially start working at Borussia Dortmund on May 1. Mislintat will be responsible for technical policy together with Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl.
Mislintat is “an experienced professional with years of experience”, reports Borussia Dortmund. “He will mainly focus on putting together the selection.”
The German club is going to restructure its technical branch. Ricken, who previously held the position of director of the youth academy, will be involved in the sporting strategy from May 1. He will work closely with Mislintat and Kehl. The latter had been involved in technical policy for some time.
Dismissal from Ajax
Mislintat previously worked at Dortmund for eleven years. First as a scout, then as head scout and technical director. Before his time at Ajax, he worked at VfB Stuttgart and Arsenal. Mislintat brought in twelve new players from Ajax, most of whom have not yet made a big impression. Due to ‘a lack of support’ he was fired on the day of the home defeat against Feyenoord, on September 24.
