Our 16-year-old son, Josiah, has been invited to play on a
US baseball team in the Dominican Republic this coming August.
In the DR, Josiah will get to work with Dominican coaches
and college baseball coaches for the week improving his baseball
skills. He will have regular workouts with Dominican players and
play a series of games during the week. There will be tours,
college guest coach lectures and the beach.
Josiah will get to train and compete at an intensity and
pace similar to college and pro baseball. Josiah
will also get to visit one of the MLB Dominican Academies during
the trip and have a practice session with the LA Dodgers academy
coaching staff.
This is a very great development opportunity for
anyone planning on playing college baseball.
The Dominican Republic is the world’s most dynamic nation in
terms of baseball; it currently puts more players in MLB, per
capita, than any nation including the U.S.

Josiah will be working full-time this summer to help with the
cost, but a trip like this is expensive. We don’t feel that we
should send him alone, so we will be going with him and have started
this fundraiser to help cover the costs.
Baseball is life for this kid and it is his greatest
passion.
A career in baseball is Josiah’s dream and we believe he has
the talent to make that dream a reality.
