Successful Start to Neighborhood Games Day at Guitard sports complex, Next Stop Vals-près-le-Puy!

Wednesday, April 17, the first “Neighborhood Games” day took place at the Guitard sports complex.

Welcomed by the City, the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, the Dahlir (Disability Support System towards Integrated and Regular Leisure), and the Justice and Sharing association, the children of the Guitard and Val-Vert neighborhoods seen offering workshops for discovering Olympic and Paralympic sports.

After an opening ceremony, with a parade of delegations and reading of the Olympic oath by young participants, around ten groups toured the various workshops led by volunteers from the sports clubs concerned.

Around fifty children benefited from an introduction to athletics, frisbee, handball, baseball, tennis and wheelchair basketball, as well as cecifoot, which raises awareness of the game of football in conditions of poor vision. In the afternoon, all the workshops were open to all audiences, including people with disabilities.

Next day Friday April 26 in Vals-près-le-Puy

The next “Neighborhood Games” day is scheduled for Friday April 26 at the Père-Fayard stadium (municipality of Vals-près-le-Puy), from the morning, with a closing ceremony at 3 p.m., and from 3 p.m. 30 a time for general public discovery of sports workshops.
