Success for Judo Club Erbach eV at West German Championship in Ju-Jutsu Fighting and BJJ

15 athletes from the Judo Club Erbach eV took part in the West German Championship in Ju-Jutsu Fighting and BJJ last Saturday (February 17, 2024) in Stolberg, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Competed in the U14 age group Maria Erbach (up to 44kg) and Francesca Nistor (up to 52kg). Both dominated in all their fights and both earned first place. Both Maria and Francesca shone with early victories through technical superiority.

In the U14 up to 36kg competed Fabian Buffleb and Albert Lehmann at. Both showed extremely strong performances, so that the gold medal was won by the two Erbachers. It was a very exciting duel with the better end for Fabian. Albert came in second place.

Also fought in the U14 Leave Me (up to 52kg) and Julian Wilczek (up to 44kg). Iwan showed great techniques, prevailed strongly against his opponents and was happy about winning gold. Julian also performed well, but wasn’t always able to reward himself. He narrowly lost twice, won once and took bronze.

Three Erbachers started in the U16. Gold came here Luca Peters (up to 44 kg). He won both fights, one even early through technical superiority. Phil Rohde (up to 48kg) took a good second place after one win and one unfortunate defeat. Adrian Coriou (up to 69kg) showed a significant improvement in performance compared to the last tournaments, only lost once and won the remaining fights. Adrian took second place.

Two second places went to the U18 Mario Stefan (up to 69kg) and Paul Wulf (up to 85kg). Both were in a good mood overall, but without the necessary luck in the crucial moments. Nevertheless, you can be satisfied with your performance.

The Erbach competition team won in the U21 up to 69kg Nikas Manschitz for another gold medal. He deservedly won both of his fights and was very dominant.

The seniors fought up to 77kg Half Manschitz. He had an overall unfortunate performance and only took second place.

Two Erbachers also took to the mat in the BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) discipline. Came in a good third place Emil Proehl (U18 up to 69kg), who narrowly missed out on a better placement.

Silver fought his way Eugene Potieyev (Seniors up to 69kg) at his first appearance in BJJ. Here too a better placement would have been possible.

All Erbach competitors qualified for the German Championships/School Championships, where the athletes will soon be able to prove themselves. The coaching team was also very satisfied with the results. The six gold medals from Erbach made a valuable contribution to Hesse emerging from the tournament as the most successful state association.
