This past weekend the Euskadi Judo championships of the Cadet and Children categories were held in the Biscayan town of Erandio. Eleven judokas from the Judo Club Adarra de Urnieta participated in them.
On Saturday afternoon the Euskadi Judo Championship took place in the cadet category (under 18). The golds were obtained by Maren Iparraguirre in less than 48 kilos, Peio Santos in less than 50 kilos and Elene Lizarribar in less than 70 kilos. In the less than 60 kilos category, Jon Iparraguirre won the bronze medal.
The rest of the judokas of the Urnietarra club did not obtain a medal despite having a good championship: Maialen López less than 48 kilos, Eneko Zubimendi less than 60 kilos, Oinatz Iriondo and Urko Gómez up to 66 kilos and Unax Rodríguez in less than 81 kilos . The three gold medalists thus obtained a pass to the Spanish Cadet Championship, which is scheduled to be held at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona on April 27.
In addition to this, on Sunday morning, the Euskadi Judo Championship took place in the children’s category (under 15). In this, the club’s judoka Malen Lizarribar participated in the category of less than 63 kilos, obtaining the bronze medal after falling in the semifinals to whom she later won the gold medal of the tournament.
