Saturday April 6, UAM judo presented two youngsters at the departmental championship held in Angers. Antoine Chambon, who fought in the -42 kg category for his first competition, was drafted in the round of 16 but was unable to continue further. Maël Bonneau, who competed in -66 kg, finished departmental vice-champion and qualified for the regional championships which will be held in Nantes on May 25. Beyond the results, we must above all remember the state of mind of these two young judokas. Antoine remains determined and wants to use this experience to progress and Maël wants to continue training hard to prepare for the regionals, notes their coach Youri Le Cossec.
Sunday April 7, the taiso group made up of around ten adults participated for the first time in a regional challenge, in Angers, where they finished in 6th place out of ten.
