Stuani: “Being able to hear the Champions League anthem is a motivation to finish the job”

This morning the nineteenth edition of Solidarity Stories of Sport with Cristhian Stuani as the protagonist. The striker of Girona is, along with Ronald Araújo (Barça), one of the sponsors of this solidarity project intended for the children’s oncology foundation Enriqueta Villavecchia. Stuani has underlined the value of the foundation’s work and has done his bit by writing the book for this year’s edition, which can be bought at Corte Inglés centers or online. The book includes different original stories on sports and fiction written by sports journalists and has the support of CaixaBank, Vueling or the Catalan Federation, among many others.

Stuani has explained that he is doing better than others muscle problems that they made him play at full throttle against Atlético and that he is confident of being ready to welcome Cadiz on Saturday. The Uruguayan acknowledged that Athletic’s stumble was “good” to keep the advantage, but he remembered that the most important thing is to “focus on continuing to maintain the ambition and desire to win” because “this is which will give us the classification”. “We have in hand to seal the much-desired classification,” he said.

If Girona finishes the job and gets the ticket for the Champions League, Stuani already knows that will show off the bracelet in the club’s first game in Europe because Míchel announced it. “It is an honor and a pride that the coach values me like this and has said so publicly. It is also an award for the effort, work and dedication that I have given to the team for so many years, especially in the difficult moments where I have tried to live up to it.” Stuani was talking about the relationship with the coach. “We know each other perfectly. He knows the commitment I have to the club and to him. We go hand in hand and everything we do is for the benefit of the team. If he has said that, it is because he really feels it and because I have shown him that I am there in the good and in the bad”.

Stuani has also watched Girona’s first match at the Champions. “It’s a dream. I can imagine hearing the anthem of the Champions League and it motivates and excites me a lot to keep fighting to achieve it. We’re having a historic year and now we have to finish it the way we all want “.
