Jan-Lennard Struff was stopped by rain and falling darkness on his way to the semi-finals at the ATP tournament in Munich. The German Davis Cup player’s game against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime had to be interrupted on Friday evening when the score was 7:5, 3:1 for the Warsteiner.

It continues on Saturday, if Struff wins, he will then face defending champion Holger Rune from Denmark.

Struff (33) is the last German in the tournament after Alexander Zverev was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The Olympic champion from Hamburg couldn’t cope with the conditions, and Struff’s opponent Auger-Aliassime also struggled with the cold.

When changing sides he put on gloves. Struff is hoping for his first title on the professional tour in Munich. In 2021 he was in the final at Aumeisterweg.
