Storm after the WTA draw in Stuttgart. The fans attacked the rival Witek Tennis

After competing in Indian Wells and Miami, Iga Świątek (1st WTA) took a break from playing tennis and returned to the courts last weekend during the Billie Jean King Cup tournament. Świątek won her two matches and helped the Polish national team qualify for the final tournament of this competition.

After competing in the Billie Jean King Cup, Świątek will play in the first clay tournament this season. After winning in 2022 and 2023, the Polish tennis player will be looking for her third victory in a row in Stuttgart.

Świątek has already seen the ladder and it’s hard to say that she was lucky in the draw. While there is nothing to complain about in the second round, she may face the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko (10th WTA) or the Czech Linda Noskova (31st WTA) in the quarterfinals. The 22-year-old has a 0-4 record against Ostapenko, and has had a fierce battle with Noskova in recent months. In turn, she may play against Elena Rybakina (4th WTA) or Ons Jabeur (9th WTA) in the semi-finals.

Fans criticize the draw of the WTA tournament in Stuttgart. Coco Gauff got in

Tournament brackets often arouse a lot of emotions among fans, and the tournament in Stuttgart was no different. Internet users pointed out that Coco Gauff (3rd WTA) had an exceptionally easy path. The American has a free ticket in the first round, and in the second round she will play against a qualifier.

“Another tournament in which Coco goes through two rounds, playing against qualifiers or low-ranked players, while Iga plays against Mertens and Rybakina against Kudermietova,” we read in one of the entries. “Coco, of course, will play against the qualifier. This is too much,” adds another fan. “Did Coco have any tough draws this year?” – asked another.

It was also noted that Świątek could play against Noskova again in the third round. Previously, this story was repeated during the Australian Open and tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami. “I think it’s great that Iga gets a chance to defeat the rivals who defeated her. It seems to be the privilege of number 1,” another Internet user ironized.

In the WTA 500 tournament in Stuttgart, Iga Świątek received a free ticket in the first round, and in the second round she will play against German Tatjana Maria (66th WTA) or Belgian Elise Mertens (30th WTA). The match will be played next Wednesday or Thursday.
