Steve Brown Returns to Trois-Rivières Eagles for 2024 Season

This is certainly an important signing from a baseball and marketing perspective as Brown is one of the crowd favorites at Stade Quillorama in Trois-Rivières.

Aged 37, the Colombian-born player was primarily used as a designated hitter for the Eagles last season. He managed to put up good numbers, with an average of 0.287, 82 hits, including ten home runs, and 64 RBIs, a high among the Mauricie representatives.

“I am very happy to be able to bet on Steve Brown again in 2024. Year after year, he manages to be very productive in addition to having a very strong presence in our locker room. Our lineup is always going to be better with him. Thanks to his experience, he knows how to behave according to his role in the batting order very well and he always puts the interests of the team first. We have built a high-quality roster for next season and I guarantee that Steve Brown will play a big role in the success of our team,” Eagles manager Matthew Rusch said in a press release.

As Brown played for six of the first ten seasons in Eagles history, he holds numerous franchise records. Brown leads Eagles history in runs scored (277), hits (446), doubles (83), triples (10), home runs (60) and RBIs (271).

The Trois-Rivières now have 17 players under contract for the next campaign, including eight pitchers. The 11th season in the history of the Eagles will be launched on May 10 against the Sussex County Miners while the first local match will be presented on May 17 against the New England Knockouts.
