Stevan Awarded Black Belt in Judo Ceremony

Tuesday evening, the three judo sections of Aubigny, Nieul and La Chaize, were gathered on the Viscount tatami to applaud the award of black belt to Stevan by his teacher Franck Pépion.

Before girding the precious symbol, the young judoka had, according to tradition, to face nearly forty opponents of all ranks, without interruption, often friendly accomplices.

Brought to you by his dad Fabrice, now vice-president of the club, Stevan started in “baby judo” in 2011 with his teacher Géraldine Mahé, then with Franck Pépion and Romain Biteau.

He followed the moves of the dojo from the first room near the town hall to the tatami of the Espace Loisirs du Marillet and should launch the new 200 m2 room planned on a new site at the end of 2025.

The youngest cape of the La Chaize club at 16 years old, a Yonnais high school student in second at Saint-François, Stevan is involved in the club in refereeing and has started training as an educator. The president, David Léger, emphasized “his great availability to young people. He received his promotion as a goal achieved but above all as a step. Very moved by the tribute from his coach and his president, he wanted to thank his father who has always been with him. »
