Sports Update: BMX Pan American Championship and Bolivarian Youth Games Bring Success for Team Bogotá

  • The best of BMX on the continent is in the Pan American Championship that starts on the PRD track.
  • Medals continue to be added in the I Bolivarian Youth Games.

Bogotá, April 11, 2024.- A good number of sporting commitments will be held between Saturday and Sunday, as well as next week, for the athletes of Team Bogotá, both nationally and internationally, complying with the schedules established since the beginning of the year.

On the track of the El Salitre PRD Recreational Sports Park, the Pan American Championship and Latin American BMX Cup will be held, with the best riders on the continent showing their abilities and throwing a party for lovers of this discipline.

Double Olympic bronze medalist Carlos Ramírez heads Bogotá’s roster for this event, and is one of Colombia’s leaders, along with Diego Arboleda and Mariana Pajón.

On the other hand, Team Bogotá continues to contribute medals to Colombia in the I Bolivarian Youth Games, which are held in Sucre, Bolivia; Bogota residents already have 32 medals, distributed as follows: 12 gold, 6 silver and 14 bronze.

Moving on to other disciplines, there is triple activity in the United States. Paula Aguirre competes in the Finswimming World Cup in Coral Springs, Florida, while the Paralympic swimmers are in Indianapolis in the Paraswimming World Cup, and on Monday long-distance runner Angie Orjuela will be in the legendary Boston Marathon, getting ready for the Games Paris 2024 Olympics.
