Spain will debut its new ‘red’ in Burgos

The world and Nations League champion will wear her new jersey on Tuesday against the Czech Republic

MADRID, 7 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s soccer team has a new shirt for its first kit and will debut it this Tuesday against the Czech Republic, in the second day of the qualifying phase for the Euro 2025 that they will play in Burgos.

“The shirt designed by adidas changes the traditional but maintains the essence and colors that unite an entire country,” says the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) this Sunday in a statement.

The world and Nations League champion will debut this new ‘red’ at El Plantío Stadium, a kit that reinvents traditional elements, inspired by the cultural identity of each country, and incorporates adidas technologies that keep the players comfortable in moments maximum pressure.

Red does not fail the first jersey of the national team, but yellow is introduced both in the lower part of the sides and in the rest of the elements (shields, adidas logo and the classic three strips so identifying of this brand) with own strength and personality.

In addition, the kit incorporates a nod to the typical nature of Spain and the considered national flower, with the embroidery of a carnation on the back of the neck. This is a symbol that, adidas claims, aims to unite fans and players through a symbol that encompasses distinction and love.

The shapes of the carnation mix with those of the seas that surround the Iberian Peninsula, forming wavy motifs that dot the base of the shirt. “The national jersey is the visual symbol that unites a nation, as its team seeks to offer fans moments that they will remember for a lifetime. In this sense, the jersey represents much more than sport: it represents unity, it represents a passion that unites us and represents an identity that is celebrated in its full splendor during an international tournament,” says adidas vice president of product and design, Sam Handy.

“We bring together this emotion and energy with a nod to the intrinsic DNA of each federation, finished off with new and daring looks, which fans will be able to wear with pride, both in the stands and on the streets this summer,” he adds.
